Shirine Jurdi
Shirine Jurdi, class of 1990, was awarded "The International Young Women’s Peace and Human Rights" Award by the NGO Democracy Today for exceptional dedication and work to conflict prevention and protection of human rights as a WILPF (Women's International League for Peace and Freedom) International Board Member and MENA regional representative. Democracy Today is an NGO located in Armenia and is headed by a former UN special rapporteur to Secretary General, Gulnara Shahanian, while WILPF is the first feminist peace movement founded in 1919.
